"Maverick Mouth" is the Kingfisherg's second album after the acclaimed "The Heartspray" (in 2005) wich allowed him to do support acts for TTC and also The Berg Sans Nipple. François Boulanger -the man beside Kingfisherg- is obviously so mature today and so confortable within songs constructions. His abstract hip-hop is charming thanks rythm subtilities and warm electronic sounds. It sounds perfect for Subtle or Jel (and co) lovers !

(...) Close your eyes and listen: “Solo Spin” and “Y is for the Youth,” the opening cuts on Kingfisherg's (François Boulanger) second album Maverick Mouth, sound like what The Sun, Fridge's recent album, should have sounded like. Blending inspired electronic sputter with a loose but forceful drum attack, Boulanger's music dazzles with its inspired fusion of hip-hop, electronic experimentalism, and post-rock (...)

(...) He creates a warm, inviting aural world inhabited by a vast array of sonic sources, from Rhodes piano, vibraphones and acoustic drums to an array of synths, subtle distortion drones and glitches. There’s a surprising number of ideas going on and the 14 tracks take many tangents. (...) Each track brings new timbres with which to play and there’s a real sense of fun being had by Kingfisherg.
