Projet fondé en 2001, THE SPHERICAL MINDS propose une musique atypique, quasi exclusivement instrumentale.
A mi-chemin entre la simplicité d'un Philip Glass, le rock planant de Pink Floyd et les expérimentations de Radiohead, le groupe est toujours curieux de découvrir des artistes aux horizons musicaux divers.
De longues ambiances éthérées nourries d'arpèges de violoncelles et de lignes croisées au piano, à des rythmes trip hop, parfois dub, menés par un duo basse / batterie implacable en passant par la douceur acoustique d'une guitare ou la puissance d'un riff rock, la musique de THE SPHERICAL MINDS entraîne, raconte et enveloppe l'auditeur de son atmosphère onirique.
Après un premier album 'De Ira' sorti en 2003 chez le label nordiste 'Thundering Records', THE SPHERICAL MINDS revient aujourd'hui sur 'Carte Postale Records' avec son second opus, 'Fern', à l’orientation musicale bien mieux travaillée et modelée, ainsi qu'une maturité et une expérience solidement acquises. Notons aussi sur cet album la présence de Daniel Cavanagh (Anathema) au chant sur cinq morceaux...

THE SPHERICAL MINDS was set up in 2001. The band’s main influences are varied: Philip Glass for his simplicity, the mind-blowing rock of Pink Floyd or the experimentations of Radiohead...The band is always interested in discovering artists from different musical horizons.
Long and ethereal as well as dream-like atmospheres are characteristic of THE SPHERICAL MINDS. Acoustic instruments such as cello, piano and guitar, are mixed with trip hop -sometimes dub- rhythms, bass and electric guitar.
The band has just recorded 'Fern', his second album, the first on 'Carte Postale Records'. Daniel Cavanagh (Anathema) did the band the honour of singing on the album..
