SILENCIO est, à la base, le projet solo de julien demoulin (co-fondateur de Eglantine Records), créé en 2001 sous forme de collages sonores improbables et à la resonnance résolument inquietante. Le perfectionnement de la démo réalisée fin 2002, ainsi qu'une vie intérieure bien remplie donneront naissance à 'Sehnsucht', sorti en juin 2004 sur le label parisien 'Grand Téton'.
En janvier 2004, SILENCIO, avec nicolas qui arrive, devient un duo et compose les premiers morceaux de 'Grünezeit' qui sort chez Carte Postale. Les ambiances introspectives et mélancoliques y sont enrobées de mélodies de piano et guitares, donnant naissance à un songe teinté de post rock et d'ambiant, notamment inspiré par brian eno, pan american ou encore one mile north. La tournée qui s'en suit touche à son paroxysme avec un support act pour Mono. L'année 2007 voit arriver un nouvel album chez les canadiens de Music Made By People et une tournée européenne comprenant une première partie de Colleen.

Originally julien demoulin's solo project (also behind Eglantine Records) created in 2001 as a cut & paste project, SILENCIO endeavoured to create lo-fi and eerie contemplative soundscapes. The perfectionning of the 2003 demo, as well as an overwhelming emotional life gave birth to 'Sehnsucht', SILENCIO's first album, released in june 2004 on parisian label 'Grand T éton'.
Nicolas will make SILENCIO a two man band in january 2004. Together, they will lay down the first layers of what would become the second album, 'Grünezeit'. The original introspective and contemplative soundscapes are now dressed with piano and guitar melodies, thus giving birth to a melancholy and dreamy soundtrack influenced by artists such as brian eno, pan american or one mile north. The end of the following tour is a support act for Mono. In 2007 julien demoulin begins new adventures with a new album released by the canadian label Music Made By People and a european tour with a gig in support for Colleen.
